Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon, located in northern Arizona, USA, is one of the world's most spectacular natural wonders. Carved over millions of years by the Colorado River, it stretches approximately 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide, and attains depths of over a mile (6,093 feet or 1,857 meters). The canyon exposes a remarkable cross-section of Earth's geologic history, with rock layers that date back nearly two billion years.
Designated as a national park in 1919, the Grand Canyon attracts around 5 million visitors annually.
